Football

Here that word has many meanings. Soccer - to most parts of the world. Australians say Footy and are referring to Rugby (I think?) Americans mean good old American Football. Now, I'm not really a huge follower of football. I don't mind watching games, I have my teams I would prefer to win vs some others, but in general it's not too big of a deal. Most people from the rest of the world criticize American Football vs. Rugby. About how American Football is a sissy sport, the pads are stupid, it's boring, blah blah blah. I personally don't care. Right now I can only say I enjoy football more because I don't understand Rugby. My opinion could very well be changed though. One thing I will always love about American Football is the atmosphere. You can't beat tailgating. Or Superbowl parties. You just can't. I miss game days at Iowa State. Waking up at 5 am hearing people already making their way to the stadium. Even if we were expected to lose, no mat...

Daily Rant

That's today's weather forecast. For my American friends that's about 85 degrees Fahrenheit. My friend is currently having a little BBQ/drinks party on the beach. What am I doing right now? Sitting in the e-library (the study room provided by my apartments) working on the assignment I have due Monday. Once I'm done with that I will move on to studying for the 2 quizzes and 2 mid-session exams I have next week (3 of them on Tuesday, 1 on Wednesday morning). I get a 4 hour break from this tonight while I go work then right back to it. That's my Saturday (and was my Friday night as well). YAY LIFE!!!!

Elections

So the Federal Elections are happening here on Saturday. Its been interesting being around during election season. Honestly, overall it doesn't seem that much different than home. I mean, it's a different system, different people and what not but it's still politics. You know the usual name calling, unfair accusing happening on both sides everywhere from the civilian level all the way up to the politicians themselves. As I do not have any form of permanent residency here I cannot vote. The plan is to be able to someday if I end up staying here once I'm done with my education. Fun Fact for the day: In Australia it is compulsory to vote in the Federal Elections. If you don't (and don't have good reason) you get fined.
