Life is Like a Roll of Toilet Paper...

... the closer to the end it gets, the faster it goes. I've found this to be quite true for my trip here. I think that is partly due to the fact that my first two months I wasn't doing much of anything. My second two months I had started uni but it still wasn't very demanding, but by now I'm pretty busy will uni while having a job and still making sure to spend as much time as possible with my friends. I had a hard realisation the other day; I really only have about one month left here... ONE MONTH. So I've gotten pretty nostalgic about this entire trip. Thinking of my favorite moments. The first night I made friends. I had a horrible day the Thursday after arriving because the jet lag caught up to me and I sat around all day with nothing to do because I knew absolutely no one and I was in this horrible foreign land I knew nothing about and it was awful. So Friday I went down to ask about the beach day the Village was having on Saturday. The guy in charg...

Things are getting pretty hectic here. We only have 2 weeks of classes left, then the study period and exams will be happening. Luckily I only have one exam, but that means for my other 3 classes I have lots of major assessments that I've been working on lately so I've been pretty busy. Everyone has really. I've discovered I'm definitely doing the right course of study. Normally I complain about how hard my engineering classes are and how much studying I have to do for them, but now I miss them. I took all GenEds, except for one engineering course, this semester hoping to have an easy semester so I'd have more time for "fun" things. And so far it has been easy, but there's one little problem... what little bit of studying I do have to do, I have no motivation to do it. The classes I'm taking are just so boring. These subjects don't interest me at all, so when it comes down to it, I actually miss my hardcore way too time consuming engineering cl...

... 42 Wallaby Way, Sydney... The Australian address that EVERYONE knows. Only problem is it doesn't actually exist. There's not even a Wallaby Way in Sydney :( Some more language differences for you... Lollies - Candies (not chocolate ones) Trolly - Cart (like at the grocery store) Parcel - Package Something I discovered at work, if you order a lemonade you'll get a sprite, if you want what I would define as "lemonade" you order Lift, which is a specific brand of it. Eating - Something I didn't quite expect to be different, and it took me a while to notice, is the way people eat. Back home I've always seen people eat with their fork in their right hand (if you're standard right handed). If you have something to cut up, you'll use the knife in your right hand, cut a few pieces (or the whole thing), then set the knife down and replace the fork in your right. This is not the case here. You eat with your fork in your left and your knife in...

Paradise

That's where I am. I've been realising this lately. Don't get me wrong, I've been loving this place from the very start, but there have been a few moments lately where I actually stop and think 'Holy cow I actually live here, that's f'ing awesome!' The first was on ANZAC Day (the equivalent of the US Memorial Day). James and Jason had a BBQ again just like on Easter so we headed up there for the afternoon (Abby insisted on walking and we got lost on the way). We all went to Coogee Bay Hotel after eating to have a few drinks and watch some 50/50 gambling which consisted of betting a certain amount of money, then picking heads or tails, people got really into it. There was a moment while we were walking down the hill to the bar when I could see the beach and it was a beautiful day where I actually had a hard time believing that this place is only a few miles from my apartment. The next moment was Monday morning. Everyone's definition of paradise is d...

... And some studying as well. Just a few pictures from my recent adventures. A big group of people had a night out at The Scary Canary Danica, Shahin, Mortada and Pranoy  I somehow always end up in pictures with Pranoy? Love her!!! My friend Ranaf had a housewarming. It was pretty awesome, and we all went out to Bungalow 8 after. Pranoy, Saad, Lily and Amanda :) Amanda celebrated a birthday, which we went to Scary's yet again for. Amanda, Diksha, Kaz and Pranoy Then the Village treated us with an All White Rooftop party at the Beach Palace Hotel in Coogee Umm, the guy in the middle is Gerardo, and you know Abby and Amanda. I can't remember the blonde guy's name :/ I was wearing like 5 inch heels I borrowed from Amanda for this party. It was really awkward how tall I was. And just as proof that I'm not JUST partying all the time, Abby and I took over the Tote and decided we were never going to leave, this is what happens whe...
