So Much Neon!!!!

Things are getting pretty hectic here. We only have 2 weeks of classes left, then the study period and exams will be happening. Luckily I only have one exam, but that means for my other 3 classes I have lots of major assessments that I've been working on lately so I've been pretty busy. Everyone has really. I've discovered I'm definitely doing the right course of study. Normally I complain about how hard my engineering classes are and how much studying I have to do for them, but now I miss them. I took all GenEds, except for one engineering course, this semester hoping to have an easy semester so I'd have more time for "fun" things. And so far it has been easy, but there's one little problem... what little bit of studying I do have to do, I have no motivation to do it. The classes I'm taking are just so boring. These subjects don't interest me at all, so when it comes down to it, I actually miss my hardcore way too time consuming engineering classes. I'll be regretting saying that next semester back at ISU when I have to take 4 different physics based classes to make up for not taking any this semester.

I have been making sure to have some time for fun though, including a Neon Trees concert, celebrating another friend's 21st birthday, and a Full Moon party at the Roundhouse.

First off the Neon Trees concert :) I had a bit of a rough week last week, starting with finding out a very dear friend of mine got in a pretty bad car accident on Monday. She's doing fine, which was a huge relief to hear, but the rest of the week was so hectic I never had a chance to recover from the stress of that before the stress of everything else piled up. So by Thursday I was pretty much done. Luckily I don't have class on Friday ;)

Thursday I started with lunch with my friend Tom at the Roundhouse, which I indulged in some delicious potato wedges and had a beer to kick off the weekend (which was soooo delicious).

Then I had class later that afternoon. After I met up with Abby and we headed off to Neon Trees. We got there way earlier than we should have so we sat and enjoyed the bar's happy hour, having a few cocktails and a nice chat. Then we enjoyed a fabulous concert (the opening band was pretty good as well).

I loves her :)
AND!!!! I was so excited to finally find something very stereotypical Aussie at this venue that I made Abby take a picture of me next to it...

Why yes, these are the entrances to the toilets :)
After the concert it was WAY too early to call it a night so we headed to World Bar where we ran into a group of people from the Village...

I don't know the first girl, and you've met Meg and Tanya.
Friday we celebrated Sara's 21st. There's no pictures of me from this night though :( (I borrowed a dress from Alix again!! I love having friends to borrow clothes from).

Monday the Roundhouse had a Full Moon Party... (yes on a Monday. I wasn't happy about that.) It was actually great fun. It was also Pranoy's Birthday that day so it turned in to quite the celebration for my group of friends.

Amanda, Saad, Lana, James and Alexa
Since it was a Full Moon party everyone was putting neon paint on themselves. At one point a group of guys walked over and asked us if we wanted some paint, this is what we got...

Not the greatest quality, but those are their numbers on our arms...
Tomorrow is the big night for this weekend. This month consisted of many birthdays. Tomorrow we're celebrating Ollie's, Pranoy's and Vik's birthday. We're headed to Soho, which I haven't been to yet so I'm pretty pumped.

In other news, the Village netball team managed to make it to the semifinals!!! Which we lost. But it was fun playing sports again (even if I didn't quite understand the rules to this one in particular)...

Winners!!!!
