I have no idea what to title this post so that's what you get... There's a few things that have happened recently I feel are blog worthy. First off, I got a job. Nothing major. But money is tight here as things are very expensive and I want to have the money to go do things with friends (and not have to skip a meal or too as a result). Abby knew I'm a little tight on money, so when a girl at her work quit she offered to bring in my resume. Her boss told her to screw the resume and just bring me in during her next shift for a trial. Trials are big thing down here in the hospitality industry. For most waitressing/bartending jobs they'll have you come in and work a 3 hour shift and that'll help them determine if you're fit for the job. So I went in and I've worked 2 shifts since. It's just a waitressing job at a small Italian place where most of the customers are regulars. It has insanely good pizza (hands down the best supreme pizza I've ever had),...

Procrastination...

It is amazing how productive I get when I'm procrastinating on uniwork. So far I have done my washing and am currently waiting for my drying to get done so I can actually fold it and put it away. I cleaned my room which involved actually vacuuming AND cleaning the windows and mirror. I spot cleaned our kitchen and did all the dishes in the sink as well as put away all the dishes that had previously been on the drying rack. And now I'm going to write a short blog post. All for what? To avoid answering 5 Economics questions. So here are some pictures of my apartment... I have the best stalker view from my window :) Notice the shiny clean mirror :) Family photos and drawings from the girls <3 Our living room (yes those are balloons on the wall) And our kitchen (The living room is behind me) I have 5 housemates. We share 2 bathrooms (which I won't provide pictures of because it's just a bathroom). Maria is from Spain. Debra and Felicia are from Si...

G'Day Mate

... I don't think I've ever actually heard someone say that. However, I've been told if you go north to Queensland the accents are thicker and there's much more stereotypical Australian talk. I just may have to venture north to see for myself. Some more differences for you :) Tyre = Tire Uni = School/College/University Colleges = Dorms Mossies = Mosquitoes Hire = Rent (You don't rent a car, you hire one) Pokies = Slot Machines Singlet = Tank-Top/Camisole Servo = Gas Station Timetable = Schedule Serviette = Napkin There is a difference between noodles and pasta. I didn't know this until I got here because I've always heard them used interchangeably. If you're actually curious as to the difference you can Google it. I'm now on the Village netball team. It's similar to Intramurals. It was quite the experience when for our first game our team consisted of 3 girls who had played and 5 that hadn't ever played before. It's sort ...

I meant to put this picture at the end of my last New Zealand post but apparently forgot... Aren't we a nice looking family? :) Well that is all for now. Back to studying.

What have I been up to? Exciting things. Those posts from my parent's visit took up so much time I've been neglecting my daily life on here. So I'm going to cram the past month into one post :) Well right after my parents left O-Week began. Crazy festivities all over the place. Wednesday was when the Village started celebrating with a carnival and food during the day and at night, A cruise around the Harbour Meet Abby And after the Cruise of course we went to the Rege (the only bar near campus) Meet Pranoy and Ollie :) Thursday there was a Uni Party at the roundhouse on campus. A foam party. But it reached capacity quite early so we didn't get in and just ended up at the Rege. Friday there was a paint party This is Meg, Tanya, Emma, Cassie and Rashed This pretty much destroyed my clothes :) My friend Prab gave me the shirt to wear... Saturday was Mardi Gras in Sydney, which is very different from what it is in the US. It's a ma...
