Parents of the Year Award

Image
This was originally typed in an email but I decided to post it here because I feel everyone should know how wonderful my parents are. I just wanted to thank the both of you. Today I played probably my best game of volleyball ever. The passes and sets were perfect so my timing was perfect (something we've been drilling over and over again since March) and I was absolutely unstoppable. I honestly didn't know I was capable of hitting like that. If I had this kind of team in high school and had gotten even halfway close to this good my volleyball career would have turned out quite differently I believe. But anyway, I wanted to thank you, because after the match the only thing I could think of is how I couldn't wait to tell you about it. I thought back to all of the sports I did. Every weekend you were there bright and early, ready to drive me and any teammates that needed a ride to the furthest of places. You guys literally came to every game and tournament I had. Every Day is a New Journey

Internships are a necessary part of my education. At UNSW Industrial experience is required for engineers to graduate. This coming summer is my last chance during my degree to get one. So I've gone in to full application mode. I can't even sleep it's stressing me out so much. I WILL have an internship this summer, even if it means settling for a not as good paying one at a company that wasn't towards the top of my list. This, is a huge deal. After this semester I will be doing an internship, which will then lead to my thesis and final year of uni (at least for now). Once I've secured an internship I'll just have to start going through the stress of applying for real jobs. Holy cow. A real job is actually within sight. As much as the application process is stressing me out I am jumping out of my seat with excitement. Not only am I finally going to be done with uni (again at least for now), but I'm actually making it my goal. The result of all of the hard ...

Gold Class

Between work, school and trying to find an internship I'm pretty busy these days. After our month off everyone kept asking me what I did on break. My answer is always "Break? What break?" And this time especially it was too true. Once the semester finished all that other stuff that was less important than uniwork all of a sudden became the priority. There was absolutely no shortage of it. One very short and busy month later I have started again, (and am in my third week of classes already!). The busier you get, the more easily amused you become. It doesn't take much to get me excited to take a break. And this past week it came in the form of a Gold Class movie. Guardians of the Galaxy was released in theatres this past week here in Australia. So I bought tickets in advance for a Gold Class showing of it on Sunday. Sesh and I walk up to the theatre and the guy taking tickets looks at ours and says "Gold Class, just that glass lounge up there." We enter a n...
