Gold Class
Between work, school and trying to find an internship I'm pretty busy these days. After our month off everyone kept asking me what I did on break. My answer is always "Break? What break?" And this time especially it was too true. Once the semester finished all that other stuff that was less important than uniwork all of a sudden became the priority. There was absolutely no shortage of it. One very short and busy month later I have started again, (and am in my third week of classes already!). The busier you get, the more easily amused you become. It doesn't take much to get me excited to take a break. And this past week it came in the form of a Gold Class movie.
Guardians of the Galaxy was released in theatres this past week here in Australia. So I bought tickets in advance for a Gold Class showing of it on Sunday. Sesh and I walk up to the theatre and the guy taking tickets looks at ours and says "Gold Class, just that glass lounge up there." We enter a nice lounge with a bar and the guy behind the bar hands us a menu. We take a few minutes to look and end up ordering drinks (A bourbon and coke for Sesh and a cocktail for me) to be delivered at the start of the movie and a nice platter of food (french fries, sweet potato fries, buffalo wings, onion rings, fried calamari and spring rolls) to be brought out with some soft drinks about 30 minutes in to the movie. We head up to our theatre which has no more than 30 some seats in it. Not your normal theatre seats though, proper reclining lounge chairs set up in pairs with a nice table for each pair. We sit back and get comfy (adjusting the foot rest and recline to the perfect settings) and the movie begins. Once the intro is done a waiter appears with our drinks. We sip on these as we enjoy another bit of the movie. The timing of our food couldn't have been better as it appears just once our drinks are empty. We enjoy the food throughout the rest of the movie and leave the theatre incredibly stuffed and satisfied. The movie was great as well. We left and got Gelato across the street (even though it was cold) and headed back home.
Unfortunately the cost of Gold Class will prevent me from going often, but it's definitely worth the experience when I'm feeling fancy.
