Parents of the Year Award
This was originally typed in an email but I decided to post it here because I feel everyone should know how wonderful my parents are.
I just wanted to thank the both of you. Today I played probably my best game of volleyball ever. The passes and sets were perfect so my timing was perfect (something we've been drilling over and over again since March) and I was absolutely unstoppable. I honestly didn't know I was capable of hitting like that. If I had this kind of team in high school and had gotten even halfway close to this good my volleyball career would have turned out quite differently I believe.

But anyway, I wanted to thank you, because after the match the only thing I could think of is how I couldn't wait to tell you about it. I thought back to all of the sports I did. Every weekend you were there bright and early, ready to drive me and any teammates that needed a ride to the furthest of places. You guys literally came to every game and tournament I had. You practically ran the concession stands for our home tourneys. You invested so much money on new gear for every sport every season. You even went as far as putting yourself in the line of fire when I needed someone to catch so I could practice pitching (and I remember you having plenty of bruises to show for it.) And then, once I moved on from sports and tried my hand at drum corps you spent money on gas, put up with my mental break downs, and drove even further than ever before for me (Dad driving 4 hours there and back to Michigan City just to see me one last time, and Mom over 5 hours there and back to Indianapolis for the finals weekend).
And when I decided to move to the other side of the world you refused to disappoint, travelling a whopping 9000 miles to visit me in this wonderful city that I love.
You always see it in the movies, the classic Dad playing catch with his son type relationship. This is considered the ideal parent to child relationship that every is supposed to strive for. You guys managed to go so above and beyond that it's unbelievable. I am positive that I would not be anywhere near where I am today if it weren't for you.
So a million times thank you, for being the absolute best parents out there, for investing so much in me, and for always pushing me to my absolute limit.
You guys rock!
