New Years 2015!!!!!
This post will be mostly pictures. New Years Eve was pretty awesome this year. We basically had no plans since Sesh has a fantastic view from his balcony. Very last minute we decided to head in to the city to a party some friends were hosting. We watched the 9 o'clock from Sesh's balcony, and a few minutes later made our way in to the city. On New Years Eve in Sydney, getting in to the city before hand is easy... getting out later is a whole other story which you will hear about later. We made it to the party, hung out for a bit and then decided to walk to our friend's Mom's place. She lives in near Darling Harbour and the apartment building has a rooftop. We got up to the roof about 10 minutes before midnight. There were lots of people up there which ended up being awesome. All of a sudden the countdown was happening and 2015 began with this...
WARNING!!!! There is foul language in this last video so if there's kids watching you might want to mute your sound.
In case those pictures aren't enough for you. This first one is short because my phone ran out of space, but just to make you jealous of the view we had...

Once the fireworks finished, like I said, getting out of the city proved to be much more difficult. We left right after the fireworks. We managed to hail one cab pretty quickly (which was incredibly surprising). Moriah, Mark and Angat took that one. Then Sesh and I spent the next hour and a half sort of walking home sort of trying to get a cab. Near the Star Casino Sesh managed to finally get one. Another group had apparently been trying to talk him into taking them but they were five people and he refused to let all of them in. So they got pissed when he let us in, and as I was climbing in the girl started yelling and grabbed the door and shoved it, which resulted in my head getting smashed between the door and the frame. Luckily I had my hand on the door so I stopped it a bit but I did have a bit of a headache later. I honestly didn't even have time to be very angry thought because I was so thankful we got a cab and weren't walking the whole way home.
We finally made it back to Sesh's place around 2 and some others joined us for a small party there. The next day we ended up at Maroubra beach which I didn't take any pictures of because I was having way too much fun. Overall it was one of the best nights of my life. Even while we were stuck in the city trying to catch a cab Sesh and I were laughing and smiling and honestly having a wonderful time. There sure are times that I really miss home, but Sydney has definitely got Iowa beat when it comes to New Years festivities.
So here's to 2015. I can't wait to see what adventures it will bring!
