Melbourne
I've been absent for a while. This is mostly due to frustration with my broken phone. I have pictures from home in February, as well as other events I would like to post on here but I cannot manage to retrieve them from my phone which has a shattered screen. I'm trying to move forward with blog posts though so I guess I'll just start from now.
First off. I finish school in 29 days. Holy cow. This is something I really can't wrap my head around. I finish school in less than a month. Meaning this month is going to be full of sleepless nights, endless hours of studying, mostly take out food, and probably a few melt downs. But it's only one more month!! I don't yet have a job lined up but I'm honestly not worried about things. If I can get through school I can do anything!
To blow off a bit of steam before going in to this last incredibly difficult month of schooling we went on a trip to Melbourne. When I got there and settled in to our totally awesome hotel room I was relaxing and realised that it was my first actual vacation since I went to New Zealand with my parents over 2 years ago. One of the things I gave up when I moved here was the ability to go on vacations since my vacation money is instead spent on visiting home.
Being my first vacation in over 2 years it was money well spent. Our hotel was awesome. It had a super nice heated pool we used every day we were there. It also had a fantastic buffet breakfast which we took advantage of. We ate so much during the whole trip. I honestly don't know how I didn't gain any weight. I was almost always full but still managed to sit down and have massive meals.
We mostly just wandered around the city and did some shopping. Sesh's Mom visited us one day and we went our for lunch at a very delicious Sri Lankan restaurant (my mouth was on fire most of the meal but it was very worth it).
Our last day we accidently found a TGI Friday's which we had for dinner. I enjoyed a Blue Moon and a Sam Adam's while I introduced Sesh to the wonders that are Loaded Potato Skins and the Jack Daniel's grill. And, interestingly enough our waitress was an American who came here on exchange and loved it so much she decided to transfer her degree here. I'm not the only crazy one!!!
I took a surprising lack of pictures during this trip so this is all I have for you.
