Australia Day

Well it's been a while (at least compared to how much posting I did my first two weeks here). Not a lot has been going on. I got enrolled into some of my classes only to discover that I can't work the main one I wanted into my schedule. As a result I spent an entire day looking through the UNSW handbook trying to find a class that might manage to transfer back. That was frustrating. I still haven't found anything. If all else fails I will take some random easy Gen Ed that doesn't mean anything and I will have to make up a few credits another semester. It doesn't necessarily matter to me either way.

I severely miss playing piano. I have some music with me, but it's a matter of finding an instrument to play on. The practice rooms for the school are limited to music students only (stupid). Finding a piano will have to be my project for this week.

Well, on to Australia Day (The Australian equivalent of the 4th of July). It was great fun. I started off by attending the BBQ held in the Village (which is the apartments I'm living in). Free food, can't pass that up. I then hung out with some people for a while. The real excitement happened that night, however. :) A friend texted me asking if I wanted to go out. Naturally I said yes. We started off at Palmer & Co, which is this fabulous bar where they dress up like the 1920's. When you first walk in the bouncer even welcomes you to the 20's (and when you exit welcomes you back to 2013). The whole place was very classy, they even had a live band playing good 20's Jazz and had some people swing dancing. It was great fun.

I stole this picture from Facebook

Before Visiting

After Visiting

After a while, however, our wallets began to hurt as this place was quite expensive so we gathered our things and stepped back into 2013. We headed next door to a club called Establishment where some famous guy that Vanessa is obsessed with was DJing.

He wouldn't wear the hat :(

Apparently this is Gaz (real name Gary Beadle) who is a cast member of Geordie Shore (the British version of Jersey Shore). Vanessa got a picture with him and her night was made. My only goal here was to get him to wear this hat (which we had all taken turns wearing through out the night). He laughed and responded "No, the hair," so I was polite and just took this picture with him. Moving on from Gaz though and too our night at the club, it was fun. We danced a little. Then we met a security guard we had made friends with when we left Palmer & Co and he got us into the VIP section where Gaz and The Janoskians (a group famous on Youtube) were hanging out.

I am a horrible person and apparently can't take serious pictures.

The night ended, we got some McDonalds, and then went to bed. Overall it was pretty awesome.

It's Sunday night now. Again I have no plans for this week. However, my parents will be coming to visit me in two weeks. This is very exciting so I hope so have some awesome posting material then.

Until next time!!!!

Looks fun! Cool for meeting a famous person you don't know. You'll have to watch the show now.
